"I worked with Brian and Hoboken Knife Sharpening earlier this year and the service was fantastic. He was very responsive over email, it was easy to drop off the knives, and there was very quick turnaround to get the knives back. The performance of the knives was so much better. It's such a great service to have local in town and I would highly recommend them."

"Like many of us hunkered down, I’m doing lots more cooking so I was delighted to find Hoboken Knife Sharpening. Not only are my knives and scissors like new, the price was reasonable, the service was swift and Brian made the whole transaction seamless and socially distant. It’s very satisfying using my new knives and I love that fixing and improving is much more sustainable than replacing. It’s a win win. Highly recommend."

"My experience with Hoboken Knife Sharpening was nothing short of fantastic. Fast 24 hr service, contactless drop off & pick up, great low cost. And most of all the knives are like new! I will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommend Brian and his services."

To Our Loyal Customers
I hope you have enjoyed your knives. There truly is nothing like a sharp knife.
I know for many of you, the first time you came to drop off, it felt a little strange. One customer compared it to some type of illicit activity or something out of a spy novel. I thought you might be interested in why we have such a unique process.
I had sharpened knives for 25 years at my store, Battaglia’s Home. When we closed the store at the end of 2018, I kept the machines to take care of my knives.
Once I started my new career as a real estate agent, I never thought I would start sharpening professionally again.
Then COVID hit, and I was working mostly from home, and more people were cooking at home. Lots of people started asking me about sharpening, and I thought it would be a nice way for me to keep a little touch with my old life. I developed the current system after a lot of thought.
I needed it to be non-contact because of COVID and also without the need for me to be present at drop off or pickup. Remember the real estate career! It has better hours than retail but is much less predictable.
After some trial and error and a long process trying to find the perfect combination lockable pickup boxes, I made some signs and a quick website, and Hoboken Knife Sharpening was born!
It is still very much a labor of love. I really like the feeling. It is very satisfying and when I take a knife that someone remembers their parents using or has some sentimental value and return it to like new condition. It kind of warms the heart.
I am very much a full-time real estate agent, that really fills my days, and that is why it takes a day to return your knives. No matter how busy I am, I always make time at night or in the morning to sharpen.
Thank you for reading my story and sharpening your knives with me. If you think I am good with a knife, you should see what a “sharp” real estate agent I am. Yes, I am asking you to think of me when you are in need of an agent.
